"Uzi Doorman, those things killed your frickin' MOTHER!"
―Nori's angry reaction to finding out her daughter and Serial Designation N "kinda hang out."
Nori Doorman is an overarching protagonist of Murder Drones who was responsible for the core implosion event on Copper 9.
She is a Worker Drone who is the wife of Khan Doorman, the mother of Uzi Doorman, and the second known host of the Absolute Solver.
Physical Appearance[]
Worker Drone[]
Nori strongly resembles her daughter Uzi, meaning that Uzi inherited many of her mother's traits. She has neon purple eyes, though Alice contradicts this, stating that Nori had yellow eyes, referring to her eyes when possessed by the Absolute Solver. Her hair is violet, a slightly lighter shade than Uzi's, with a long bang parted to her left and tied up in a loose ponytail. She also wears a black construction helmet, an oversized black off-shoulder shirt, and a black choker on her neck with an inscription that reads "#002" (her ID number). Her outfit is identical to Yeva's, who is the mother of Doll. Nori is also barefooted.
Hologram[]
The Absolute Solver's hologram also shows Nori holding a baby Uzi, most likely indicating that Uzi was only an infant when her mother died. In the hologram, Nori and the infant Uzi sport the Solver's three-pronged glyph in their visors, revealing that Uzi has been infected her entire life because she inherited her mother's code.
Heart[]
In "Mass Destruction" and "Absolute End", Nori controls her disembodied heart. Nori's heart looks similar to the hearts of other Solver-infected drones, as shown in "Dead End" as well as the heart of Eldritch J shown in "Heartbeat" — a small blob of dark red, sticky flesh draped over a standard Worker Drone core, with a single eye in the middle and eight other camera-like cylindrical eyes protruding in the intermediate directions, and three thin black tentacle appendages protruding from the bottom and ending in a fleshy, soft, crustacean-like pointed claw, arranged in a triagonal planar shape similar to the Absolute Solver's Translate symbol. She wears a mourning cap with a bow as an accessory.
Personality[]
From what Khan had mentioned, she seemed very popular among her friends, unlike her daughter, who was isolated from the rest of her class. Furthermore, it implies she is relatively easy-going, laid-back, and chill with those around her as photos of her during her time in Cabin Fever Labs show that she did not seem too concerned with possessing the Absolute Solver despite the potential risks of harboring it. This disregard for the Absolute Solver's potential risks resulted in her being fully possessed by it.
Her husband described her as "kooky and insane" due to her drawings of her prophecies, which were considered nothing more than crazy ramblings at the time about the Disassembly Drones and singularities. This could imply that Uzi's erratic and unusual behavior is attributed to some of her mother's. Likewise, she shares the same blunt and snarky attitude with Uzi.
Nori is very caring, kind, protective, and motherly when it comes to Uzi, as she becomes hesitant when N suggests they tell Uzi that she is alive, only for Nori to refuse as she holds herself responsible for every horror in her life. Nori also cheers for Uzi as it has her final battle with Cyn. She also gets enraged when she learns that Uzi and N are romantically linked. Likewise, despite working with N, Nori has a more hostile approach towards him due to his role as a Disassembly Drone, and is not hesitant to use force on him.
Like her daughter, she has some of what appears to be the same coping mechanisms, as upon saving Khan from falling, she immediately cuts off his thanks by claiming that he does not know her and that she hates him, before running away and sobbing. Nori is a serious and cynical drone who can often be quite cold and sarcastic towards others. In the same vein as her daughter, she also writes about the events that occur or the things she finds, although uniquely having the hobby of writing an 'S' in most of the notes she writes.
Nori blames herself for the events that occurred to both Uzi and the planet and because of that wants to stop the Absolute Solver by herself. She does, however, seem to care about the lives of other individuals, even if the way she expresses it hint otherwise, as she saved N from the Solver when she first met him.
Nori is also revealed to hold a grudge against the Disassembly Drones for nearly killing her and destroying her body, as when she found out Uzi and N were dating, she is furious and slaps a possessed Uzi with such strength that gets her knocked to the ground, indirectly breaking her free as a result.
Regardless, Nori is a good person at heart. She loves her daughter and husband, choosing to isolate herself out of fear over indirectly jeopardizing their lives and their relationship with each other. During the series finale, she has a heart to heart moment with Uzi as they finally have a chance to talk to each other for the first time in years and later cheers her on during her fight with Cyn/The Absolute Solver. She also saves Khan from falling to his death and, despite initially running away from him out of embarrassment, ultimately gets back together with him as shown in the ending and during the credits.
Biography[]
Pre-series[]
While still shrouded in mystery, Nori was a worker at Camp 98.7 when it was still active, involved in some as-of-yet unidentified research project, presumably about experimenting with Solver-infected Drones. She bore the ID tag "#002." Her Solver infection reached a critical point where she killed most of the scientists working in Cabin Fever Labs, but Yeva managed to install the Crucifix Patch in her just in time.
However, it is implied that having the patch thrown directly at her face/being possessed by the Solver whilst having the patch administered caused her mind to be scrambled. After this ordeal, Nori and Yeva escaped Cabin Fever Labs, which Alice took as them abandoning everyone else. After the core collapse that turned Copper 9 into an apocalyptic wasteland, Nori and Khan left the Camp to join the Worker Drone colony.
Nori began a peaceful life with Khan and their daughter, Uzi before she slowly became delusional due to her mind scrambling, seeing visions of Disassembly Drones, which she referred to as "sky demons" and nightmares of dangerous "singularities." She tried to warn other drones about the coming dangers and told Khan to build doors to shelter themselves from the Disassembly Drones.
Her prophecies would be proven correct shortly, as the Disassembly Drones arrived on Copper 9 to begin their slaughter. Nori was stung by one of their nanite acid-filled tails, leading to Khan supposedly euthanizing her with a wrench to put her out of her misery.
Season 1[]
Mass Destruction[]
Nori was shown to still be alive but in the form of her heart (also worth noting that it seemed her mind returned to normal after her body's death). She let her husband and daughter believe she was dead so she could investigate Cabin Fever Labs. One day, she found a Disassembly Drone named N being chased by the Absolute Solver, questioning why Cyn was after her own drone.
After finding out he knew Uzi, she explained everything that happened in the labs. When they were leaving, Nori was hesitant to tell Uzi she was alive due to holding herself responsible for everything bad that's happened in her life. Nori assisted N in the fight against a Solver-possessed Uzi, who immediately got confused when it saw Nori, as the Solver thought she was dead.
The Solver was about to eat Nori before N told her that N and Uzi were romantically linked. This enraged Nori and she angrily stated "Uzi Doorman, those things killed your frickin' MOTHER!" and slapped her. This caused Uzi to snap out of the Solver's control and angrily kick Nori into the pit, not knowing that the heart was her mother at first.
Absolute End[]
Nori jumps between the planet's asteroids to catch up with Uzi and the latter joyfully calls to her before remembering that sound cannot travel in space. Their long-awaited reunion is underway, at last. Nori uses the asteroids and Uzi uses her visor to communicate about how to stop the Solver for good. Nori asks about the patch and Uzi responds that it was destroyed and asks what to do if the Solver controls her again. Nori gives Uzi her choker back to fight the possession.
They share a tender mother-daughter moment and Nori then reveals that the Solver needs a host and destroying Cyn's heart would finish the job. She also shows her music player and pickaxe to help Uzi in the final fight. She throws the pickaxe to Uzi, only for N's ship to separate them and intercept Uzi while sending Nori, the pickaxe, and the music player hurling toward the planet's floating land masses.
Later, as Uzi was about to have her final battle with Cyn, Nori cheered for her as she fell towards the planet. After the battle ended, she saved Khan as he was falling into a pit, and, as Khan appears not to have recognized her, she angrily replies, "You don't know me and I hate you!" and runs away. Back at home, she is seen with Khan outside of Uzi’s classroom cheering for her.
In the credits scene, she was seen resting on top of Khan's hat while playing cards with him, Uzi, N, and other Worker Defense Force members.
